Kunming

Kunming, a major city of southwest China lies at an elevation of 1890 metres.  This means the weather is mildand rather pleasant all year round.  The city itself is quickly being modernized which brings progress to its inhabitants but in the same time it destroys the old Kunming atmosphere, historical wooden buildings are disappearing.

Lake Dian (300 km2) lies south of Kunming
Local women do their laundry and clean poultry in the very
same water.

A little village church also bears signs of western culture.

Not so obvious are scores of slaugtered roosters
hanging off the wall after being used for religious ceremonies.

Peak though the window into a small village church.

The trail to Dragon Temple is hacked to the cliffs.
Yuantong Temple in Kunming is over 1000 years old.
